Library
Shillong Commerce College Library is centrally located. It has over the years grown from the number of books, journals, magazines, e-resources to a lot of new added features and technologies to enhance the overall learning and teaching experience of the college fraternity. It caters to the needs of about 2200+ users (students, faculties and staffs of the college) providing both in-house and online services. The Library aims to promote intellectual growth and creativity by developing collections, facilitating access and effective use of information resources and services. The library is Wi-fi enabled where users can browse the internet for online references. Library Orientation Programmes are conducted for fresh students annually. The Library is looked after by the Library Advisory Committee (LAC) comprising of the Vice Principals, HODs, Librarian and Library Staffs as members. The LAC meets at least twice a year to deliberate on a whole range of issues pertaining to the needs of the library. The Library is fully automated using Koha Integrated Library system.

Shillong Commerce College Library will augment and maintain collections in support of academic pursuits of the college It helps The library intends to implement the latest technology in order to provide better access to resources & provide better services to its users and to provide a well-equipped and better functional and convenient physical space for the users to pursue learning independently beyond the classroom.

The Shillong Commerce College (SCC) Library is committed to providing quality service, resources, facilities and efficient dissemination of knowledge to support teaching and learning excellence, to promote effective use of the library’s resources, to encourage academic achievement, student success and lifelong learning.

LIBRARY RULES AND REGULATIONS
All library users are required to comply with the following General Rules and Regulations
1. College Id card is compulsory for getting access to the library
2. Strict discipline, cleanliness and silence ARE to be maintained in the library.
3. Bags/Personal belongings should be kept in the rug shelves at the entrance.
4. Library users should scan the barcode from their college ID Card before entering and exiting the library.
5. Registration should be done prior to borrowing the library resources.
6. Students are eligible to borrow 4(four) books for a period of 7(seven) days which can be renewed for 7 days and staff 10(ten) books for 30(thirty) days on presentation of the library card
7. Borrowers should return the books on or before the due date, if returned late overdue fine will be charged for the delayed period.
8. Users are advised to checked the books while borrowing, if any page(s) are missing or damaged please inform the same to the Library Staff
9. Students are required to show the books being checked out of the library to the staff at the entrance counter
10. Users should not make pencil/pen marks, or any damage to library books and other library resources. If such things are noticed at the time of return, the borrower will be held responsible.
11. In case a user loses a book, he/she shall have to replace with the same or latest edition of the lost book after informing and consulting with the librarian.
12. Reference Books such as Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Year Books, Journals, etc are only available for reference in the library. Issue of only Subject Reference books from the reference shelves will be allowed if needed for 2(two) days only.
13. Newly purchased books will not be issued to any user for at least 2 weeks. But it will be displayed separately as New Arrivals.
14. Using mobile phones and audio instruments is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
15. Students should return all the library books after completion of their course failing which their mark sheet will be withheld.

- Training Program on the theme “Beyond Books” with J-Gate was organized in Shillong Commerce College by Shillong Commerce College Library In collaboration with Informatics Publishing Limited, Bangalore On 9th August 2023 in the college Auditorium.
Collaborated Programes:
- A two day Book Fair Fest cum Sale Programme to commemorate the World Book and Copyright Day 2022 was organized by Shillong College Central Library & in Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Shillong College in collaboration with Shillong Commerce College Library, Shillong and College of Teacher Education (PGT) Library, Shillong on the 25th and 26th of April 2022 in the Auditorium College Campus of Shillong College, Shillong.
A two day book fair Fiesta with the theme “Books are tickets to other worlds” was organized by Shillong Commerce College Library in collaboration with Shillong College Central Library and College of Teacher Education (PGT) Library, Shillong on the 9th and 10th October 2023 in the College Auditorium of Shillong Commerce College.
