Department of Sociology

Introduction

The Department of Sociology was established in 2020 with two teachers namely Dr. (Mrs.) Sanbanielyne Ryndem (In-Charge of the Department) and Mr. Thangoulen Kipgen. Mr Thangoulen Kipgen left the college after serving for sometimes. Dr (Mrs.) M. Lyngdoh then joined the Department in 2020 and left to joined Martin Luther University in 2023. In March, 2021, Dr. Bankerlang Kharmylliem joined the Department followed by Dr (Mrs.) Sandra Adriana Khonglah and Mrs. Pynbianglin Hynniewta in October, 2021. During these past few years, the Department has witnessed significant development as it is managed by a team of dedicated and qualified teachers who are not only actively engaged in imparting knowledge to the students but also involved with extra-curricular activities. Apart from daily academic activities, the teachers of the department have also been engaged in research activities such as presented papers and have published articles in referred journals.
